Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page). Below, we have tried to answer the most common questions visitors to this our Web site may have. If you find that your question is not answered on this page, please email us cooper.engraving@ic24.net or call us during business hours on 01539 822220.

Artwork.

Artwork can add significantly to the cost of a job. If you have a good copy of what you wish to be engraved, use it - it could save you money. Do not be tempted to offer an inferior photcopy or fax of the image you require.

We can work from most types of artwork, but essentially for etching onto metals, or our sub-surface materials, we require a film positive of the final image. To this end, we have both Macintosh and PC computers, and can advise you of the correct format your artwork should take. Alternatively, we can capture an image for transformation by computer, or scan a printed copy. The quality of the artwork is important to the end result, and we will charge for improving artwork not up to the standard required, so it benefits you to provide the best possible version.

When provided, proofs should be studied carefully, as mistakes cannot be rectified once engraved, only replaced.

Prices.

Our prices are dependant on the amount of work involved in a job. For this reason we ask that ALL relevant details are provided, before we quote a price. It would help if you have the following to hand. The size of the job; the quantity; the colours; the material; the surface finish; AND does it require holes, self adhesive backing, round corners, and finally, are you providing quality artwork, or do you require us to work on it.

Delivery.

We will despatch items whenever possible by recorded or guaranteed delivery post. Above 2.3 kilos, it becomes cheaper to use a carrier, or you can arrange for your own carrier to pick up from our premises.

DO allow time when ordering for paint and varnishes to be DRY before sending. If your order is urgent, you might wish to consider varnishing your wooden boards yourself, as we cannot pack them until completely dry.
